Mannite Abroad!
Posted by JessicaS
Hello fellow Mannites! I have been in Sweden for just over a month now and I thought I would give a short update on what is happening over here. Traveling and adjusting to life in Sweden was much easier than I had anticipated, thanks be to God! I have joined a small group Bible study that meets Wednesday nights and is part of a growing international church. We are studying the book of Daniel, looking specifically at how God used Daniel as a foreigner in a different land and how we, too, might be witnesses for Christ abroad here in Sweden. Tonight we met and out of the eleven people at the Bible study, we represented eight different countries and every single continent in the world (except for Antarctica)! People from Thailand, Germany, Finland, Ethiopia, USA, Columbia, Sweden and Australia were all worshiping, singing, praying and studying Scripture together as members of the body of our Lord Jesus Christ! The unity among fellow believers here has been a real blessing for me and taste of what is coming when Scripture speaks about people “from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb…And they cried out in a loud voice: ‘Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.’ ” I really miss Manna but I am learning and growing so much here, by God’s grace. It has been really good getting to know and making friends with other students in my toxicology class and my student corridor where I share a kitchen with about eleven others. Please pray that, while I have had many opportunities to talk about faith, that God would expand those opportunities to include sharing the gospel. Thank you so much for your prayers and support and please continue praying for Christ to bless my time here and that it would, above all, be honoring and glorifying to Him.
