Yes, I am having a little trouble communicating effectively. Sort of like I did during this past Sunday’s message! Let me try and clear things up a bit. Mark 13, although COMMONLY BELIEVED to be about Jesus’ second coming, IS NOT! The passage, all of it, has to do with Jesus coming back in Judgment, not in bodily form, to judge the Old Covenant, centralized in Temple worship and Temple Religion, which He did in 70 AD. In that year, the armies of Rome descended upon Jerusalem one final time (two previous assaults), surrounded it, attacked it, and completely destroyed the Temple under the leadership of soon to be Caesar, Titus. There were virtually NO Christ-followers who were killed because, exactly as Jesus had instructed, when they saw the “abomination” of the Roman armies marching on Jerusalem, they fled to the mountains and others cities (e.g Pella).
There are many prophetic teachings of Jesus and His best students contained in the New Testament. MOST OF THEM HAVE ALREADY BEEN FULFILLED, INCLUDING THE MAJORITY OF THE BOOK OF REVELATION. I hope to complete a book on this topic in the next few months, which will be available then. Thanks, everyone, for putting up with my poor effort this past Sunday.
