Should Sexually Immoral People Be Tossed Out of the Church?!

Last week I taught about how I’d never work for a church that would hire someone like me. Now I’m launching a witch hunt on people for what they do in the privacy of their own bedrooms! Someone stop me… I’m out of control!
Last week we looked at 1 Corinthians 4 and Paul’s concern over how the Corinthian church was taking the shortcut (the “diolkos") of hiring people to be spiritually mature on their behalf. This week we turn to chapter 5, where Paul seems to argue that—contrary to our popular culture—we are, in fact, supposed to “judge” sexually immoral people and kick them out of the church. This can’t be serious… Pastor Greg is just being funny and provocative to drum up attendance… right?
